From Table to Tale: The Siege of Dulforth - Pt 1

As the adventurers walked toward the nearest city to sell their wares, they had little idea of what they would fine. Darting from the direction of Dulforth, an elegant carriage charged forth at them. With an immediate stop, a posh clad character popped his head out.

“I can’t believe this day has come. Mighty Dulforth has fallen to the Orcs. Those pesky creatures shall pay for this. They should know their place. They will pay three fold the consequences of the day. But alas, what about Rosalyn, my daughter. Sob Sob. She, she is still there. I couldn’t hold any longer. We were about to become Orc food. My daughter…"

Holding back wailing tears, the Earl of Dulforth took a moment to respite his grivenances. Then he looked over the Eladrin, Andraste.

"I would pay a tremendous sum to see her survival. Are there any souls that would brace such a deadly challenge? Any who would help me for the sum of 4000 GP?“

Andraste shot back at his comrades to make quick discussion of the offer. It was a large sum of money to consider. Then again, it sounded dangerous. He questioned the Earl.

"Are you aware of any ancient artifacts you might have of Eladrin origin that might still be back at your castle?"

The Earl seemed perplexed by the odd counter, but insisted that his historian would know better and he was still back at the castle.

Andraste seemed interested, with the chance that this mission was more worthwhile than just meager gold, which he had always been accustomed to.

Conversation commended between the not so beautiful Hagatha, the pixie Moonflower, and Andraste. It seemed a deal has been made. This adventure would be worth while.

"We'll do it," Andraste called back, with his proper elven tongue.

The Earl smiled graciously and replied, "I am headed to our fall retreat to the east, in Riverfront. I will wait there, for you. If you bring me my daughter, I will pay you that great fortune, in addition to having a never ending gratitude for your bravery. In addition, here is a map. The best way into the castle will be through the sewer system that expels waste into Lake Cavatch to the west. Go there and be good."

In a dusty cloud, the Earl's carriage rode into the distance, leaving the adventure's with a new mission. They would need to enter the castle, save the princess, and loot it for all it was worth.
